Four Characters' Struggle & The One I Left Out: Mine

Back in March, I posted here that I was building something new: a community for mission-driven entrepreneurs who want to build a business that reflects their values, with real support instead of doing it all alone. I asked what would make a community like that genuinely valuable to you, and I read every single response. I called it the Magnet Hub, and I said I'd launch it in April.

Then April arrived, and the Unlock Your Impact Workbook pre-launch swallowed the time I'd set aside for the Hub. The workbook launch and party were in May.

Somewhere in the middle of that, I realized something else: Mission, the first part of the workbook, deserved its own workbook, streamlined and more focused, a way for people to be introduced to the Magnet Model and do just that one piece if that's all they wanted. I created it and called it Where the Spotlight Belongs (more on that later).

Initially I wanted to launch it alongside the workbook, then realized that would split the focus. So I thought I'd launch it later, maybe June or July. But my audiobook recording was already scheduled for May, coming out in June. So Spotlight and the Hub both got pushed again.

All the while, I was tweaking the Hub. Real feedback kept coming in, and I kept refining it. To be honest, it stopped being about the tweaks a while ago. It was perfectionism, wanting a version that felt airtight before I let anyone in, all tangled up with real impatience to get my other things out (and part of me insisted I needed to be more organized first).

Too many ideas & projects, not enough time to launch them all!

Meanwhile, I've been writing a novel about four entrepreneurs, Dan, Viv, Lawrence, and Irene, and getting more excited about it with every chapter. Now I want that out too, ASAP. (Yes, planning is not my strong suit)

Here's what finally struck me. In the novel, what moves each of these four people forward isn't just discovering the right strategy. It's having people around them who help them see it clearly, actually apply it, and hold them to it when it's easier not to. The strategies matter. They're the whole reason I wrote the book behind the novel in the first place. But even a good strategy tends to just sit there without people around you to help you use it.

Every call, what launches first, what waits, what gets the spotlight this month, reasonable calls, every one of them, but alone (a close friend or two along the way, and I'm grateful for that), but not a whole community behind any of it.

So next week, I'm finally opening the door on the thing I built back in March.

More on exactly what's inside in a few days. Thanks for listening. Do any of you struggle with this too?
