How Avital Built a Thriving Business with the Guild

Avital Spivak never thought of herself as a marketer.

As a Tech Confidence Coach, she loves helping solopreneurs clear their tech blocks so they can show up online with clarity and confidence, like the high-value professionals they are. She’s passionate about her work and great at what she does — but when it came to marketing her own business, things felt fuzzy and overwhelming.

“I didn’t even realize I needed marketing,” Avital says. “Clients came from networking or programs I joined, but there wasn’t a plan. I didn’t think marketing was something a solo business like mine even did.”

Her results were inconsistent. Some months were full of new clients, while others felt like tumbleweeds blowing through an empty inbox.

She tried to look at what others were doing. Social media seemed to be the answer, but there was one big problem: Avital hated LinkedIn.

“I was so turned off by LinkedIn. Even before I had a profile, they were sending me all these emails. It felt predatory and overwhelming.”

Avital knew she needed a way to attract clients without burning out or compromising her values. That’s when she came across my LinkedIn course.

A Fresh Start on LinkedIn

Avital’s first step was building her Magnetic Profile.

Instead of staring at a blank page, she worked through guided questions to uncover her story, her expertise, and what makes her approach unique. Those answers became a powerful LinkedIn profile she felt proud of — one that could grow and evolve alongside her business.

She also learned how to take control of her LinkedIn experience, turning off the endless notifications and emails that had made the platform feel so overwhelming. This simple shift gave her space to engage on LinkedIn with intention rather than avoidance.

“LinkedIn quickly became my calling card,” she says. “When someone asked where they could learn more about me, I just sent them to my profile. It’s my live home on the internet now.”

But there was still a hurdle: posting.

Avital had deeply ingrained beliefs about her writing skills and what it meant to share content online. She felt blocked, even with ideas ready to go. Together, we worked through those fears and found her unique voice.

When she finally hit publish on her very first post, something incredible happened:

“That first post Sophie helped me with got me a speaking gig. I couldn’t believe it.”

This breakthrough gave her not just a result, but proof that she could do marketing in a way that felt natural and authentic.

Joining the Guild: Strategy Meets Community

As her confidence grew, Avital joined The Guild, my high-touch mastermind for mission-driven entrepreneurs. She wanted to go beyond learning how to post and start using content strategically to grow her business.

Here’s what she found inside:

  • Strategic framework: A clear map showing how LinkedIn and email could work together to guide clients from discovery to decision.

  • Quarterly planning sessions: In just three hours, she left with a full 90-day plan — complete with themes, offers, and messaging.

  • Community and accountability: A small group of peers who understood her business and provided meaningful feedback and encouragement.

“One of my favorite parts of the Guild is the quarterly planning,” Avital says. “Sophie guides us with simple questions, and by the end there’s this clear strategic map for the next three months. It doesn’t feel like three hours — it just glides.”

Inside the Guild, Avital also learned to connect her content to her client journey. She mapped out her message to speak to three audience stages — unaware, problem-aware, and solution-aware — and aligned her LinkedIn posts with her emails so every piece worked together seamlessly.

This allowed her to plan both value-driven content and event promotions without overwhelming her audience. One key tactic? Using the PS section of her emails strategically to make subtle, values-aligned invitations to workshops and programs, instead of multiple promotion-only emails.

The Guild wasn’t just about learning tactics. It gave Avital a repeatable rhythm to execute her marketing without constant stress or guesswork.

Building Consistency and Results

Before the Guild, Avital’s email list sat mostly silent. She worried about bothering people, and she felt awkward sending only promotional messages.

Inside the Guild, she learned how to nurture her audience with value-first emails and soft invitations to events and offers. Soon, she was emailing consistently every week — something she once thought impossible.

She used the same strategy for her emails as for LinkedIn: value upfront, with subtle invitations woven naturally into the conversation. She even discovered that readers weren’t sitting there counting her emails or judging her for past gaps — a mindset shift that freed her to simply keep showing up.

“I realized my readers weren’t sitting there counting my emails,” she laughs. “I didn’t need to apologize for being inconsistent in the past. I just needed to send something interesting and helpful.”

Meanwhile, her LinkedIn strategy was paying off in a big way.

For nearly three years, Avital has been running a signature workshop every six to eight weeks. With almost no affiliates or external promotion, she consistently attracts 50+ registrations per session — and about 20 live attendees — almost entirely from LinkedIn.

This wasn’t luck. It was the result of a repeatable promotion cycle we built together, using her quarterly content plan to tie workshop topics to themes and posts.

Her workshop now functions as a growth engine — consistently bringing new people into her ecosystem and filling her programs.

Her visibility has also led to more speaking invitations, referrals, and collaborations.

“People I’ve never met are talking about me in rooms I’m not even in,” she says. “Someone I just met recently told me, ‘Oh, you’re big on LinkedIn!’ It’s not about followers — it’s about consistent, meaningful conversations.”

A Clearer Vision and a Stronger Business

Today, Avital’s marketing feels completely different.

She no longer scrambles to figure out what to post or how to promote her events. Instead, she has a clear plan that connects her message, her audience, and her offers — and a community to support her along the way.

Along the journey, she also narrowed her focus to high-value professionals, sharpening her messaging and increasing the quality of the leads she attracted. This shift made her marketing even more effective, and it now resonates deeply with the people she most wants to help.

Her business has grown steadily, with a consistent pipeline of leads from both LinkedIn and email. And most importantly, marketing no longer feels like a burden.

“I used to avoid LinkedIn and doubt my writing. Now, LinkedIn is my live home online, and my marketing actually feels fulfilling,” Avital says.
